She Melts My Heart

This is the 'conversation' that Amaia and I had last night as I was putting her to bed.

Me: Good Night, Amaia

Amaia: Nuh Niiiggghh!!!

Me: I love you, Amaia

Amaia: I know...

Who knows if she really meant to say that, but that's sure what it sounded like. Like exactly. It was so cute.....

Vidoes

I realized I didn't post any videos with my October pictures. Instead of posting a million short vidoes, I just made them into one longer video-I don't get to write captions for each video now, but hopefully you get the point.

'Milestone'

Gone are the days where she would throw tantrums because I wouldn't take her outside into the blistering summer heat; or say "no" to everything I say (although I'm sure that will all return sometime down the road).

Come are the days where everything is "MINE"-even if she doesn't know what it is, or can't even see it.

Along with this, has come the discovery that her diaper comes off, which leads inevitably to the Diaper Strip Tease.

Oh Joy.

October 2009

Alrighty-As you might have noticed I've decided to start doing my blog post with these mosaic type photo collages. Sure, some of the pictures are smaller, but this way I can easily group them into corresponding photos and that way it's not like you have to scroll to the very bottom in order to see the entire string of photos. These are all the pictures from October.

I guess I should add some stuff that's been going on. This last month has been a little crazy planning the Halloween party (see the previous post).
At Amaia's 15 month check up we learned that she's still a shrimp with a big noggin: her weight and height are between the 5th and 10th percentile but her head's all the way up in the 50th percentile. She still doesn't weight 20 lbs yet (only 19lbs and 12 oz) but that didn't stop us from putting her in the forward facing carseat in September.
She has just exploded vocabulary-wise. A couple days ago she just started yakking away (gibberish, but yakking nonetheless). It's to the point where she says something, and most of the time I can pretend she's saying something real (becuase she uses real sounds now) even though she's not. It makes it a little more fun for me.
Her actual word vocab is also increasing-this morning she called her blankey a 'teddy' (she has one of both, which are usually together so it gets confusing). I sat and explained to her (over and over) that it was a blankey, and she kept trying over and over and actually got pretty close. It's like that with tons of words. So far my favorite are 'muk' (milk) and 'niiiight!'-it's so dang cute.

Here are Amaia, Sophie and Chloe Hales all cuddled up in my trunk as we watched the boys play football on an absolutely freezing Saturday morning.

Here is Amaia getting 'pretty'-combing her hair, putting on foundation and blush, and of course, putting on as many pairs of mommys lingerie as humanly possible

Justin won't like me for this, but here it is: a collage of only him (almost). Top pictures are of him and his buddys preparing to go painballing-complete with camo; boxes of paint; paintball gun parts and cleaning supplies-oh ya-and a truck drive off road to get to where they need to go. Behind the houses on who knows who's property.
The bottom left and right require a story: for our xbox game Rainbow Six Vegas there is an achievement where you use your Xbox Live webcam to take a picture of your face, and it will put it on your dude. Well, I didn't have that one yet, and Justin decided it was silly for me to not have it, so he did it himself. He made a funny face, and this is how it turned out.
The bottom middle is a shot of a 'wound' justin recieved from a piece of his paintball gun exploding into his face. you can see it's the exact same square shape at the piece that hit him.

Here are some shots of Justin and the boys playing football

Our trip to Dave & Busters: Amaia hugging the hippo, even though it was still in the cardboard box. A caracature; Amaia's face paint, and Amaia checking out the dough :)

Amaia and friends: Owen; Andrew; and Poor Baby Jospeh getting his faced mashed down at the bottom

And Amaia all on her own. Note the do-rag and the suepr cute sweater outfit off to the left.

Halloween Party!

Pictures are here! I know it's only been like 3 days since the party, but they are all done and here they are!

It was crazy. After reviewing the 'guest list' I've determined that there were 66 people in my house, with even amounts of kids as there were adults. As I said, CRAZY.
I ended up doing everything last minute (I put my face on like 5 minutes before the first people got there), so a lot of the decorations got left out-massive amounts of spider webbing included :(
I was a wreck when people got there, running around like crazy (no small feat in my little Chinese dress that gave me like a 6" maximum stride) trying to figure out what needed to get done and the best way to do it. Luckily there were plenty of people to help me, or it would have probably been a disaster.
Overall though, I think it all turned out pretty well. The cookie decorating didn't take off really well, and I forgot to hand out my party favors I made for the adults (which worked well-the kid's favors were decorated cookies and only like 5 of them did one)-decorations were slim, but I think everyone had a good time.
Some key points of interest in the photos below: photo backdrop (which turned out WAY better than I had imagined); my (first ever) Trifle (chocolate & Orange-super yummy); Mrs. Frankenstein cake; and the Vomiting Mummy & Pumpkin. I made Amaia's dress and her Trick or Treat Bag (which ended up with a grand total of 5 pieces of candy in it-we only went to like 5 houses though) and all the food.
Oh and a HUGE thanks to Rachel Mower for the AWESOME bows in Amaia's hair. Check out her wibsite: http://princessbows.blogspot.com/
Here is her bag, both sides; the kids playing on the hammock (I stole your picture Sierra-thanks); mummy bowling (which no one played-sad day) and my Mummy ice cream buckets that were going to be homemade 'fog' thingers, except my dry ice managed to evaporate before I could use any of it.
The Pumpkins on the bottom left are the bags that I put the favors into (the chocolate covered pretzels were the favors). In the middle is all the food I had leftover, and on the bottom is all the candy I had leftover.

Here are some decorations-all made by me except for the Boo blocks at the top (thanks mom!)

And here is the photo backdrop-top right has the backdrop alone-pretty cool huh? and on the bottom is Amaia's outfit, front and back. I made Justin's outfit too, but his pants ended up tearing so he changed into these.

Pictured here are some of the friends that came: The Votavas; The Kearns; The Hales; The Shurtliffs; Ruby Linford; Andrew Kearns; and the Larsons
And the rest: The Gessels; the Griffin Kids; the Deans; The Chappells; the Deans 2; The Dockstaders; the Fosters; Todd & Emma Crisp; Joe & Sierra Griffin; and the Greaves
