June 2010-2nd Half w/ Video

Sorry again on the late blog post. I forgot I had video to do as well and then I couldn't find time! But anyways, here it is.
Only a little over 3 weeks until baby # 2 (ya that's right, she still has no name) is here! Or maybe less since the doctor told me I'm already 3cm at 36 weeks...so we'll see. Hopefully not too early because I still have a lot of stuff to get done, including Amaia's birthday party. I'll be really put out if I can't do it.
Here's Amaia's 'Can-Do's for this month:
A hair tie is a 'tee-tie'

when we open the sun roof, she reach up with both hands and grab some sky. Then she'll make us get some, in both hands, even if we're driving. And then she'll eat the sky, and insist we do the same

still loves baby sister-she'll share her blankey with her by putting it over my stomach, and sometimes when she's playing on my iPod she'll hold it at an angle so that they can both 'see' it.

I guess I shouldn't be calling it 'my iPod'-that kid uses the thing more than I do! If I even get it out all I hear is 'turn iPod??? turn iPod more?' until I give it to her....

That being said, she sure messes up a lot of stuff on my iPod...Like adding things to my calendar, possibly deleting them, setting alarms, deleting Apps, and she deleted the note in my Notepad that had the list of all the things she did new in the last few weeks, so bear with me as I try to remember as many as I can

She's gotten herself a little attitude. She's been quite independent for about a month or so, but now it's just pure attitude. She's not so great at sharing anymore, and has started to hit when she gets mad.

Usually we let Amaia sleep in the car during Sacrament Meeting since church is 12-3 (aka her nap time), that way she gets at least an hour or so. This past week she decided she wasn't sleeping. After church we heard from her nursery leader that he saw a new side of her: She usually (according to him) will play nice with the kids (and I dont' remember exactly all he said), but last week she was hitting and the word of the day was "nnnnnnnnoo!"

She's started to say no (just like that-all the n's drawn out), even if she's doing what I asked her to do, she'll still say no.

She'll sit herself in the corner and tell me she's in time out. When I ask her what she did or why she was in timeout, about 90% of the time it's because she 'hit andrew' (our little friend across the street). The other 10% she hit either Daddy or Teddy.

If she doesn't feel well, she come up to me and in the most saddest voice ever tell me 'Amaia sick'. It's so sad, especially when 20 minutes later she's throwing up. And then she comes back and tells me that she needs tylenol, or that we need to go to the doctor to make her better. No kidding, she didn't say it in so many words, but that's definately what she was telling me.

She thinks that baby sister and/or mommy is always sick, because we keep going to the doctor and apparently you only go to the doctor if you are sick

I got her one of those 99 cent tape measure things (like a measuring tape, but floppy like a tape measure) at the store. She calls it her 'pink thing' (since it's pink) and will go around measuring things, and tell me 'measure book' or whatever it is that she's measuring. She also likes to measure my tummy like the doctor and tells me to 'no moof'.

she always asks for a 'hanle-burr' as we pass the McDonald's on our way out of Walmart

She's finally figured out how to pronounce 'f', 'th', and the 's' when it comes at the beginning of a word

I told her that Mom's name was Emily (since she knows that Daddy's name is Justin) and she started running around saying 'un-a-mee Amaia' :)

We watched Vern's kids one Saturday, Dillon and Kaylee, and ever since then she's referred to her little baby doll as 'Baby Kaylee'. She likes to put her to bed on a pillow with her blanket, or take her to the bathroom, or change her diaper (by lifting her legs up and asking for a tissue so she can wipe her bum). She does this with Teddy and other dolls too.

She can dress herself! The only bummer is that if she starts to get it on backwards there is no helping her-she'll freak out if you even reach out towards her while she's putting her clothes on. The only hope for a straight outfit is to lay them on the ground right side up before she ever grabs them

Not sure if I mentioned this, but she sings the BINGO song, except all she says is "B-I G-O" over and over

A fruit snack is called a boo-nak

I don't want any funny comments about Argentina losing-the pictures and video were (and still are) really cute :)

June 2010-1st Half

Ok, so I'm trying to be better about this.
But apparently I've slacked off photo-wise. These are seriously all the pictures we took the past two weeks. I usually have to narrow down the hundreds (you think I'm kidding?) of pictures to pick a handful for these collages. Let me just say that every single picture we took is down there.

That being said, at least I have some stuff that Amaia's been up to (must hurry because my back is friggin' killing me!):
She'll give eskimo kisses-or as she calls them, 'minimo' kisses
A Piano is a 'meen-o'
Everytime I take Amaia to the bathroom, she'll copy what I used to say and go "I comin'"
After we use the bathroom, Amaia insists that we dry our hand off at the same time on the towel, or she flips a lid
Good morning (which she never actually says in the morning) is "ahh moanin'"
When I wake her up, we do have a nice "HI" match-she'll say Hi, then I'll repeat it, and then she will, on and on. She says Hi really drawn out, with a lot of emphasis on the H part (think that fluffy thing Katie from the movie Horton Hears a Who)
She can count to 5 on her own now, though I'll be darned if I can get her to do it for the camera
When I give something to Amaia, all I have to do now is say "What do you say?" to get a "thank you"
When she wants me to sing "Daddy's Homecoming" she'll ask for the "Daddy Home Daddy Song"
If she wants me to sing "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam" she'll ask for the "baby Jesus song" (don't ask me...)
When she gives high fives she'll knock knuckles afterwards-she's even been known to give air high fives :)
Learned how to say Happy Birthday (happy bo-bay)
Sometimes when she's in a hurry, like when she's running full force to the bathroom, she tell me that "Amaia fast airplane"
Along with 'Amaia Happy Now', we also started to get "Amaia Funny" and "Amaia Otay"

So...enough about her. Things are going good around here. I'm starting to get big :) I know it's been forever since I posted a picture of my roundness, but I dont like to do them when my hair isn't done (I know right? be vain when I look like a friggin' hippo...) and when I actually do my hair, we totally forget. So hopefully I'll have one for the next post.

In case you haven't heard, our C-section date it scheduled for JULY 30th at 8:30 in the morning. Which couldn't come any sooner because I can't stand this back pain! I swear it's like right in the kidney (ok maybe alittle higher, but right around in there) on my back and inside in the front. It only hurts when I'm sitting down, but it's not like I get to lay down all day and standing isn't much fun either. I've tried our massage chair (which makes it feel good, until the massage is over), a rice bag (which also feels good until it gets cold) and next on the list is Icy Hot. I have no idea if it's a muscle pain or joint pain or what. If Icy Hot doesn't work I might have to resort to plain old tylenol...as much as I dont' want to. But MAN it kills!

Ok sorry, enough about me :) Sorry no video (we probably got just as scant amount of video as pictures the past two weeks, so it woudln't me much of a video anyways). Now I'm off to try and finish off my list of To-Do's and Crafts that have to be done in the next 6 weeks (yea-6 weeks!!). Wish me luck!

May 2010-2nd Half w/ Video

Oh dear.

It's already time for my June post, and I'm just barely getting around to my May. Oops. Part of the reason (or my excuse) is that I can't sit at the computer for very long anymore-my back yells at me if I do. This post was actually done in 3 steps: I uploaded the video, the pictures, and wrote the thing all on 3 different days.

Anyways...this month we went swimming a few times with the Deans up at Bentwater:
Yes, she's in her underwear in that picture up there. The swim suit (which was size 12-18 months) was literally falling off her little bum, probably because we ditched the swim diapers now that she's potty trained. The underwear kept her bottom covered better than the swim suit did

Some of the things Amaia's been up to:

She asks for me to sing BINGO by asking for 'more doggy song;

She's super obsessed with having a new baby-she'll 'her', kiss her, cuddle up with my belly, and when she thinks the baby's moving she'll lay her head on my stomach. She calls her Baby Sister and gets so excited to go to the doctor to listen to the baby's heart.

When we drive in the car, she'll ask for the sun roof to be open. When we open it she reaches up with her hands, grunts, and claims she 'got some' of the sky. And then, most of the time she'll eat it :)

She gets just as excited over big semi trucks and buses as any little boy I know

We officially graduated Amaia to a twin size bed! The Deans were going to (I think...) give us their two convertible cribs when they shipped off to CO, and that wasn't going to be until the end of July. I wanted to get Amaia switched sooner so there were no hey-baby-you're-in-my-bed problems, so when we got a bunk bed set from the other Deans, we set up the top bunk on the floor and she loves it! She doesn't get out until I come to get her, and since it's a top bunk it's got railing all the way around it so she doesn't roll off in the middle of the night.

Had a phase where every time she would share something (usually sharing her snacks/food with Teddy and/or Blankey) she would go "ohh 'weet" bc I would always say 'sweet' when she shared.

Every time she hugs, no matter what or who it is, she goes 'awwww' for herself :)

She'll run around saying "Amaia Happy Now". One day she was telling me all about how Amaia was happy, and Mommy was happy but "Daddy No Happy Work" :)

When she wants me to sing the "On top of Spaghetti" song, she'll ask for the "Achoo Song"

Apparenlty, a duck says 'kack', and a pig says 'wink', and a monkey says "oo-oo-ah!"

Mom's hair straightener is called "mom's hot thing" and the hair dryer is called "mom's wind"

She'll run around going "Amaia screamin'!" and then she'll go "ah!"

Can say all her colors: Red Orange (utch) Yellow, Green (deen) Blue Purple White Black Gray and Turquoise (geekle-daise)

Only recognizes (like if I ask her what color something is): Blue Red Yellow and Orange all the time-every once in a while she'll get a different color right, but NEVER gets green right.

We taught her her name-If you ask her "What's Your Name?", she'll answer "Amaia". I was getting sick and tired of people asking her what her name was and since she didn't know I would have to answer...

For a week or so after we went swimming she kept saying "out buddy buddy water" (every body out of the water) even though no one ever said that while we were swimming...

As you can see from the pictures, she loves swimming. She gets to excited to play in the water. We just have her using arm floaties now and she loves to steer herself and kick her feet to get around.

Can count to 3 on her own (see in the video) and if you help her count to ten, she'll get to 3, and then knows 5, 9 and 10 :)

Enjoy the rest of the pictures, and sorry the video is sort of long this month :S
