This is the 'conversation' that Amaia and I had last night as I was putting her to bed.
Me: Good Night, Amaia
Amaia: Nuh Niiiggghh!!!
Me: I love you, Amaia
Amaia: I know...
Who knows if she really meant to say that, but that's sure what it sounded like. Like exactly. It was so cute.....

Vidoes
I realized I didn't post any videos with my October pictures. Instead of posting a million short vidoes, I just made them into one longer video-I don't get to write captions for each video now, but hopefully you get the point.

'Milestone'
Gone are the days where she would throw tantrums because I wouldn't take her outside into the blistering summer heat; or say "no" to everything I say (although I'm sure that will all return sometime down the road).
Come are the days where everything is "MINE"-even if she doesn't know what it is, or can't even see it.
Along with this, has come the discovery that her diaper comes off, which leads inevitably to the Diaper Strip Tease.
Oh Joy.

October 2009
Alrighty-As you might have noticed I've decided to start doing my blog post with these mosaic type photo collages. Sure, some of the pictures are smaller, but this way I can easily group them into corresponding photos and that way it's not like you have to scroll to the very bottom in order to see the entire string of photos. These are all the pictures from October.
I guess I should add some stuff that's been going on. This last month has been a little crazy planning the Halloween party (see the previous post).
At Amaia's 15 month check up we learned that she's still a shrimp with a big noggin: her weight and height are between the 5th and 10th percentile but her head's all the way up in the 50th percentile. She still doesn't weight 20 lbs yet (only 19lbs and 12 oz) but that didn't stop us from putting her in the forward facing carseat in September.
She has just exploded vocabulary-wise. A couple days ago she just started yakking away (gibberish, but yakking nonetheless). It's to the point where she says something, and most of the time I can pretend she's saying something real (becuase she uses real sounds now) even though she's not. It makes it a little more fun for me.
Her actual word vocab is also increasing-this morning she called her blankey a 'teddy' (she has one of both, which are usually together so it gets confusing). I sat and explained to her (over and over) that it was a blankey, and she kept trying over and over and actually got pretty close. It's like that with tons of words. So far my favorite are 'muk' (milk) and 'niiiight!'-it's so dang cute.
Here are Amaia, Sophie and Chloe Hales all cuddled up in my trunk as we watched the boys play football on an absolutely freezing Saturday morning.
Here is Amaia getting 'pretty'-combing her hair, putting on foundation and blush, and of course, putting on as many pairs of mommys lingerie as humanly possible
Justin won't like me for this, but here it is: a collage of only him (almost). Top pictures are of him and his buddys preparing to go painballing-complete with camo; boxes of paint; paintball gun parts and cleaning supplies-oh ya-and a truck drive off road to get to where they need to go. Behind the houses on who knows who's property.
The bottom left and right require a story: for our xbox game Rainbow Six Vegas there is an achievement where you use your Xbox Live webcam to take a picture of your face, and it will put it on your dude. Well, I didn't have that one yet, and Justin decided it was silly for me to not have it, so he did it himself. He made a funny face, and this is how it turned out.
The bottom middle is a shot of a 'wound' justin recieved from a piece of his paintball gun exploding into his face. you can see it's the exact same square shape at the piece that hit him.
Here are some shots of Justin and the boys playing football
Our trip to Dave & Busters: Amaia hugging the hippo, even though it was still in the cardboard box. A caracature; Amaia's face paint, and Amaia checking out the dough :)

Halloween Party!
Pictures are here! I know it's only been like 3 days since the party, but they are all done and here they are!
Here are some decorations-all made by me except for the Boo blocks at the top (thanks mom!)
It was crazy. After reviewing the 'guest list' I've determined that there were 66 people in my house, with even amounts of kids as there were adults. As I said, CRAZY.
I ended up doing everything last minute (I put my face on like 5 minutes before the first people got there), so a lot of the decorations got left out-massive amounts of spider webbing included :(
I was a wreck when people got there, running around like crazy (no small feat in my little Chinese dress that gave me like a 6" maximum stride) trying to figure out what needed to get done and the best way to do it. Luckily there were plenty of people to help me, or it would have probably been a disaster.
Overall though, I think it all turned out pretty well. The cookie decorating didn't take off really well, and I forgot to hand out my party favors I made for the adults (which worked well-the kid's favors were decorated cookies and only like 5 of them did one)-decorations were slim, but I think everyone had a good time.
Some key points of interest in the photos below: photo backdrop (which turned out WAY better than I had imagined); my (first ever) Trifle (chocolate & Orange-super yummy); Mrs. Frankenstein cake; and the Vomiting Mummy & Pumpkin. I made Amaia's dress and her Trick or Treat Bag (which ended up with a grand total of 5 pieces of candy in it-we only went to like 5 houses though) and all the food.
Oh and a HUGE thanks to Rachel Mower for the AWESOME bows in Amaia's hair. Check out her wibsite: http://princessbows.blogspot.com/
Here is her bag, both sides; the kids playing on the hammock (I stole your picture Sierra-thanks); mummy bowling (which no one played-sad day) and my Mummy ice cream buckets that were going to be homemade 'fog' thingers, except my dry ice managed to evaporate before I could use any of it.
The Pumpkins on the bottom left are the bags that I put the favors into (the chocolate covered pretzels were the favors). In the middle is all the food I had leftover, and on the bottom is all the candy I had leftover.

And here is the photo backdrop-top right has the backdrop alone-pretty cool huh? and on the bottom is Amaia's outfit, front and back. I made Justin's outfit too, but his pants ended up tearing so he changed into these.
Pictured here are some of the friends that came: The Votavas; The Kearns; The Hales; The Shurtliffs; Ruby Linford; Andrew Kearns; and the Larsons
And the rest: The Gessels; the Griffin Kids; the Deans; The Chappells; the Deans 2; The Dockstaders; the Fosters; Todd & Emma Crisp; Joe & Sierra Griffin; and the Greaves

Shelf Reliance
Well,
I just wanted every one to know about this Food Storage system and company (I guess that's the right word). I know my mom made herself a giant one of these for the basement, but they sell this thing called the Cansolidator where it's just a basic rolling can shelf system. You can buy them in tons of sizes (I have a smaller one that holds 60 cans and fits on my shelf in my pantry) including the large stand up ones if you have more space (i think so anyways). But you should all check it out, since stuff like that is always nice to have when you have 3 months of food storage laying around your house!

I can...
Here is a list of some fun (old and new) things that Amaia can do-things Amaia can Say and things she can Sign are somewhere over on the right hand side of the blog. Amaia Can:
*Snap (or at least try)
*knock on the door with a fist (so cute)
*'answer' the telephone with 'hello'
*Loves to try and out her own clothes on
*Helps cleaning by handing me toys to put away after the bath; hands me clean laundry to fold out of the dryer; pulls weeds out front and puts them in the 'weed bucket'; and picks up trash off the floor and puts it in the trash.
*Loves to read books-they have become part of the wake up and bedtime routines
*Play 'Peek-a-Boo" and even say "boo!" at the end
*If some one is sad, she will walk up to them and become sad herself, and then try to give them a hug
*Likes to help mommy pay at the store
*every time she wakes up she grabs her teddy and give it a big bear hug (while grunting)
*folds her arms and sits down when she wants to watch Baby Signing Time
*High Five
*likes to wash herself with tissues, wipes, or anything like that (before she shreds them, of course)
*somersault (with help)-bends over and tucks her head under so we can push her over
*Throw a ball
*wash herself with the soap
*put on powder foundation and blush (not always in the right places)
*brushes her hair (from the back over the top to the front) :)
*likes to stuff the ball pit balls down her (and my) shirt
*is obsessed with taking baths, washing her hands, and going outside
*loves to 'play' xbox with us-holds the controls and pushes buttons
*outside, she'll walk across the street to our friends house and knock on the door for Andrew to come out and play
*will share her food (i.e. stuff it into your mouth whether you want it or not)
*comes and tells me when she has a dirty diaper, and then will run to her room to get it changed
*sign 'ow' and then point to where the owie is
and I'm sure there are more, but I've been thinking too hard about it and can't think of any more. But she's no longer our little baby anymore, that's for sure. She's way too fun for that!

Sidewalk Paint Fun
Amaia had tons of fun playing with the sidewalk paint that we bought. I figured it would be better than chalk, since I didn't think she'd be able to actually draw with the chalk (that and she'd just eat it). I've had it for a while but waited to do this until I could have Justin standby as an official photographer. He was a brat about it though-he took over 400 pictures, and I only ended up keeping about 20 of them. I kept bugging him to "take pictures, justy" so he put the camera on continuous shot and took like a million pictures of the same thing. oh well.
she seemed to think it was soap, and started washing herself in it. It started with her arms...
and then her belly...
and you can see she's completely covered in it-it even got in her hair! silly kid...

Donuts
Thanks to Jason, we now have a very small (and quickly decreasing) supply of Hostess Raspberry Filled donuts-Justin's favorite. I can almost guarantee, if these things weren't so hard to get ahold of, he would learn to get over them. Enjoy :)

Help!
The first person to correctly identify the MOVIE that this track comes from wins 1 Million Dollars! (Not really, but I really really really have got to know what movie this is from!)
Ok, the video in this video is just there so that I could get Movie Maker to save the stupid thing as a .wmv file instead of a .wma file, so enjoy it, but it's not supposed to be anything special.
I've got three more of these ready to go when we get this first one figured out!

7 Acre Woods
This last Friday we went on a field trip to the 7 Acre Woods with a whole bunch of other ladies and their kiddos. There was a petting zoo, playground, pumpkin patch, golf course, and other things I didn't visit. Her are the photos:

September 09
Ok, it's the beginning of a new month. For all of you that means you get to look at a whole month's worth of photos and videos. I've already written a couple posts this month, which will take some of the bulk off the amount of media on here, but I think there's been a lot more. I have also recently discovered how lame this stupid Blogger thing is. So i type up all this stuff I want to write, place my cursor where I want the pictures to go, upload pictures, and then find out that they all just end up at the top of the post no matter what, and all video goes directly to the bottom. Next time I'll add media first and then type, but for now I apologize that everything is super out of order (at least for how I wanted it) so you get all the random pictures first.
our first attempt at photographing lightening-it's hard to see but this is the only shot we got all night with an actual lightening bolt in it-it's super blurry though because it's hard to tell on the little screen if it's focused or not...maybe next time :(

she hated the grass and was trying to lift her leg off of it
Amaia is signing away (something I never would have had her do except we got a DVD for her birthday and I'm glad we watched it!-Thanks Mandy!)
She can sign (in no particular order): food/eat; milk; banana; cat; dog; horse; fish; more; mom; dad; (justin says she can do grandparents too, but I've never seen her); shoes; hat; please; wash hands; bath; brush teeth; wind; outside; cold; baby; all done; ball; again; bug; yes; telephone
Most of them are not exactly what they are supposed to look like, but she gets better every day. And those signs are ones that she's actually used in context (today she found a bug in our kitchen and squatted to look at it while signing bug). I don't count it if she happens to do it.
Food (she can do it for real, but for some reason this is the only picture I have of her doing it).Washing her Hands (sign)
signign her version of 'outside'
her saying 'all done'
big bear hugs (she gives her teddy one every mornign when she wakes up, at least)
we were watching the veggie tales movie Jonah, and I looked over to her dancing to the music
lifting the weights
milk
She's also learned to say quite a few words: hi; bye bye; mommy; daddy; teddy; kitty; more; all done; no; ya; baby; (justin claims she said 'oh crap', but I can't verify that); uh oh; again; don't; she ruffs when she signs dog and can also moo like a cow, and she says 'mmmmmmmmmmmmmm' when something tastes yummy :)
signing more (and starting to say it also)
singing kitty
signing bath
